About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Medical Inpatient Physiotherapy team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Specialist Oncology Physiotherapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and treat patients with a range of conditions, including acute respiratory needs
  • Provide training and teaching to junior staff, support workers, and students
  • Supervise more junior staff, including Band 5 therapists and support workers
  • Deputise for Band 7's as appropriate
  • Work flexibly, including late shifts, weekend, and out-of-hours rotas
  • Develop the service in line with evidence-based practice, working alongside Band 7's and seniors in the team
  • Support student placements within the team and provide formal and informal training
  • Provide a supportive and learning environment for team members, including undertaking annual appraisals and supporting health and wellbeing

Requirements
  • BSc honours degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of CPD relevant to the area
  • State registered/HCPC
  • Evidence of postgraduate training relevant to the area
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Member of CIG
  • First-line management course
  • Clinical Educators course
  • Previous Band 6 experience
  • Experience of audit
Communication and Relationship Skills
  • Ability to communicate complex information
  • Ability to motivate, train, and teach
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team
Physical Skills
  • Evidence of manual handling skills
  • Basic keyboard skills
  • Ability to carry out treatment handling skills
