About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Respiratory Assistant Technical Officer to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our respiratory and sleep diagnostics departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a range of basic routine and complex respiratory and sleep physiological measurements to appropriate standards and in accordance with local and national guidelines.
  • Conduct basic administrative tasks, including data entry and record-keeping, to ensure accurate and efficient patient care.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of physiologists to deliver high-volume daily clinical workload and support each other in achieving excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of respiratory and sleep diagnostics, including the collection and analysis of blood samples, and stay up-to-date with relevant training and professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and coordination.
Requirements
  • GCSE grade C or above in English language, mathematics, and biology/science.
  • Experience working with the general public and in a hospital environment.
  • Good verbal skills, sympathetic and caring manner, and evidence of work-based tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member or independently, with a logical and ordered approach to work.
  • Physically fit, able to stand for long periods, and maintain a neat and tidy appearance with a high standard of personal hygiene.
