Position Overview

The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking to appoint an Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist to enhance the specialist therapy services dedicated to Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This role is integral to the multidisciplinary team, focusing on delivering high-quality care to patients with MND.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide specialized clinical services to patients diagnosed with MND, ensuring coordinated and integrated care within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Engage in service development, evaluation, and governance to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with the MND lead Consultant, Nurse Specialists, and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) to adhere to established guidelines and assess the effectiveness of the service.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis to measure the impact of the role on patient care.

Key Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex cases within the specialist area.
  • Strong leadership and operational management skills.
  • Ability to deliver training and education to team members and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Communication and Analytical Skills

The role demands excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, to effectively convey complex information to patients and healthcare professionals. Candidates should also exhibit strong analytical skills to assess intricate information and formulate appropriate management plans.

Work Schedule

This position is structured for four days a week, with flexibility considered for job sharing. The role requires attendance on designated core clinic days to ensure effective collaboration within the team.
