Position Overview

Role: Staff Nurse

Specialization: RMHN/LD/RGN Neurorehabilitation

Salary: £35,000 - £43,000, dependent on experience. The remuneration for this position will be reassessed in accordance with the NHS's forthcoming Agenda for Change.

Work Schedule: Full-time roles comprising 7 shifts of 12 hours every two weeks.

Braintkind Neurological Centre York is a cutting-edge, purpose-built independent hospital featuring 40 beds, dedicated to delivering exceptional neuropsychiatric and neurobehavioral evaluation and rehabilitation for individuals recovering from acquired brain injuries, alongside various mental health and physical challenges.

Job Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Current professional registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (RMNH/RNLD/RGN).
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable in work approach.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating care and empathy.
  • The ability to function effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable:

  • Experience with acquired brain injury patients.
  • Familiarity with the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Recognition as a practice assessor/practice supervisor.
  • Understanding of risk assessment and management within practice.
  • Proficient IT skills with experience in computerized record systems.

Pre-Registration Preceptorship

At Brainkind, we proudly offer a preceptorship program for all newly registered practitioners. This initiative provides a welcoming environment, offering support and guidance as you build confidence and competence while transitioning from student to independent professional. Preceptorships typically last between 6 to 12 months, during which you will be paired with a Nurse who will mentor and guide you through structured meetings and learning opportunities.
