Pharmacy Technician for Homecare and Patient Services

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our Homecare team at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective management of medications.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Homecare Pharmacist and Senior Pharmacy Technician to deliver a quality homecare service, ensuring that patients receive the right medication at the right time.
- Provide a range of pharmacy support duties, including labelling, assembling, preparing, and dispensing medicines, stock control, and receipt of prescriptions.
- Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of requests for pharmaceutical products across the Trust, including dispensing and issuing for prescriptions, signed orders, and controlled drugs orders.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strict data protection protocols.
- Participate in the dispensary rota and provide cover during busy times as required.
Requirements
- GCSE Maths and English (grade C or above) or equivalent.
- National BTEC or NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent).
- Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- National Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification or be willing and eligible to undertake National Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) qualification.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Team leading or management qualification.
- Experience of working as a pharmacy technician or pre-registration pharmacy technician in primary, secondary, or community pharmacy.
- Computer literate and able to use Windows applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel, and internet.
- Experience of liaising with patients and healthcare staff.
