Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Work-Life Balance: At our organization, we value the importance of a healthy work-life balance. We encourage you to discuss flexible working arrangements that can accommodate your personal life during the application process.

Diversity and Inclusion: We actively encourage applications from individuals of Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds, as we strive to enhance representation within our Trust.

About the Role: We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Full-time Senior Clinical Practitioner in Emergency Care at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, operating on an 80/20 job plan. Currently, our team consists of four members, including two qualified practitioners and two trainees. Due to a team member's relocation, we are looking to fill this position. The role encompasses 80% clinical responsibilities and 20% off the shop floor, where you will collaborate with the medical team, trainees, and contribute to service provision, rota management, education, research, audit, and quality improvement projects, ensuring ongoing development across all four pillars of Advanced Practice.

Support for Trainees: You will play an active role in mentoring trainees. Your responsibilities will span across various departmental functions, including clinic duties, team support, and ward assistance. Should we be unable to recruit a qualified Senior Clinical Practitioner, we may consider appointing a trainee at Band 7.

Trainee Requirements: As a trainee, you will need to enroll in an accredited ACP Apprenticeship or e-portfolio pathway. An active e-portfolio is essential to demonstrate your competencies throughout the acute medicine curriculum, with the goal of achieving qualification over a three-year period, culminating in a Band 8a position. Trainees are expected to work 30 hours clinically each week, with an additional 7.5 hours off the shop floor. You will be assigned an educational supervisor and are expected to be well-organized, proficient in IT, and maintain an exemplary record of professional conduct. Regular educational sessions and short placements in other practice areas, such as Emergency Department and Intensive Therapy Unit, will be provided for learning opportunities.

Clinical Expertise: You will practice at a high level of clinical proficiency in assessing and diagnosing patients presenting to Emergency Care.

Professional Judgement: Demonstrate a critical understanding of your expanded responsibilities and autonomy, recognizing the limits of your competence and professional scope, particularly when dealing with complexity, risk, and incomplete information.

Leadership and Teamwork: Proactively establish and nurture effective relationships within multidisciplinary teams, clarifying roles to promote productive collaboration.

Organizational Values: Embody the values of our organization, showcasing a person-centered approach to service delivery and development.

Self-Evaluation: Regularly assess your own practice and engage in multidisciplinary team evaluations, demonstrating the impact of advanced clinical practice on service functionality, effectiveness, and quality of care.

Peer Review: Actively participate in peer review processes to enhance your own and others' practices, developing and implementing strategies for improvement.
