About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Operations Centre Physician to join our team at South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide primary care support to paramedics, nurses, and emergency care practitioners within the Emergency Operations Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct telephone consultations with patients, relatives, and/or their carers
  • Work collaboratively with our clinical team to provide urgent and emergency care
  • Triage and re-prioritize 999 calls
  • Onward refer patients to appropriate alternative services
Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council on the General Practitioner List or Specialist List (Emergency Medicine)
  • Skilled at managing clinical risk in the context of telephone triage
  • Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team
  • Clinical experience of urgent and emergency care and systems knowledge
