Position Overview

We are seeking an Overnight Recovery Support Specialist to become a vital member of our team, dedicated to the rehabilitation and reintegration of our male residents and participants into the community. Your role will involve providing essential pathways, support, and tailored interventions to facilitate successful resettlements, while collaborating with both internal and external partners to achieve positive outcomes.

ROLE DETAILS

The Overnight Recovery Support Specialist will play a crucial role in assisting with the rehabilitation and reintegration of male residents and participants. You will be responsible for offering pathways, support, and appropriate interventions to ensure successful resettlements, while working closely with various partners and agencies to meet desired objectives.

Work Schedule: This position requires flexibility, with hours that may include working from 21:00 to 08:00 on a rotating schedule, which consists of 2 nights on, followed by 3 nights off, and then 3 nights on.

About Our Services

Our residential services provide a recovery-focused environment for individuals facing long-term mental health challenges. We work collaboratively with participants and residents to enhance their independence and transition them into lower-support accommodations. Our approach involves close cooperation with mental health services and other partner agencies to improve daily living skills, foster social inclusion, and assist individuals in managing their mental health effectively.

Our services are delivered across multiple sites, offering 18 bed spaces. We provide personalized support in daily living skills, including budgeting, shopping, cooking, medication reminders, and establishing a structured weekly routine.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in the supported accommodation sector is preferred, including backgrounds in substance misuse.
  • A genuine passion for helping others, challenging stigma, and making a meaningful impact in people's lives.
  • A collaborative team player, committed to delivering high-quality care and support, with strong communication skills to build rapport with diverse individuals.
  • Compassionate, supportive, and empowering, with the ability to form effective and motivational relationships.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in IT, with the ability to learn new software and basic experience in Microsoft applications.
  • Experience working with individuals from complex backgrounds, ideally in areas such as mental health, criminal justice, homelessness, or substance misuse.
  • Flexibility in working patterns to meet the needs of the service and residents.
  • Understanding of the housing and social needs of individuals with multiple and complex challenges.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others.

Preferred, but Not Essential:

  • Previous experience in homelessness or substance misuse.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or equivalent.
  • Experience in creating co-produced support plans and providing suitable interventions for service users, while liaising with other professionals.
  • Experience in providing housing support and practical assistance in a residential or outreach context.
  • Prior experience in a similar organization or role.
