Role Overview

The position involves working within a supported accommodation setting that caters to up to 15 male residents who present with complex needs. These individuals may require assistance with various challenges, including but not limited to, offending behaviors, substance and alcohol misuse, homelessness, mental health issues, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with residents daily to encourage and advocate for access to community support services.
  • Fulfill key worker duties, which encompass assisting with appointments, benefits, training, employment opportunities, cooking, health and safety, and community activities.
  • Collaborate with both internal and external service providers to facilitate housing options and transitions.
  • As a Supportive Housing Facilitator, you will play a vital role in our Criminal Justice Service.

Impact on Residents

Your efforts will significantly influence the lives of our residents, guiding them towards empowerment and independence. You will:

  • Develop and maintain positive, supportive relationships with residents who have complex health and support needs.
  • Build therapeutic relationships that enable residents to recognize and address issues related to substance misuse and offending behavior.
  • Support residents in maintaining their independence, identifying their strengths, and achieving their personal goals.
  • Design and implement both individual and group interventions that address support needs concerning substance misuse and offending behavior, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

Work closely with residents, Support Workers, and external agencies to create, implement, and review tailored Support and Safety plans. You will also:

  • Provide specialized knowledge regarding the complexities of substance misuse and offending behavior.
  • Stay informed about sector developments by attending training and conducting independent research, sharing key findings with the team.
  • Establish effective working relationships with key external stakeholders, such as Offender Managers and healthcare professionals, to provide holistic support.

Teamwork and Responsibilities

Contribute to the core functions of the service by supporting colleagues, completing assigned tasks, and proactively identifying additional responsibilities as they arise. Ensure that:

  • Health, well-being, safety, and security of the service and its users are monitored effectively.
  • Accurate and confidential records are maintained in accordance with organizational policies.
