As a Nighttime Youth Support Specialist, your typical shift will be dynamic and will involve a combination of direct assistance for residents, administrative responsibilities, and collaboration with external agencies.

Your role will encompass conducting regular welfare assessments on the young individuals you support, while adhering to their personalized support plans and safety evaluations that require continuous updates.

You will also be tasked with inspecting the living conditions of our residents to identify any necessary repairs or potential safety concerns that may need your attention.

Addressing safeguarding matters will be crucial to ensure the protection of our residents from harm, abuse, or neglect.

Additionally, you will provide practical assistance to help our residents with their benefit applications and may coordinate group or individual activities.

Your primary objective as a Nighttime Youth Support Specialist is to guide our young residents towards securing a position on the housing register or locating suitable rental accommodations.

You will manage a cohort of young individuals with complex needs, offering them the practical and emotional support essential for regaining their independence.

Given the intricacies of their requirements, establishing consistent and trusting relationships is vital to ensure they feel secure and supported.

This position demands empathy, exceptional listening abilities, a non-judgmental approach, and the capacity to identify and address potential issues. You must be adept at working independently, navigating, and de-escalating challenging situations to prevent further complications.

Key Qualifications:

  • Experience working with teenagers aged 16-17 years.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Knowledge or experience in safeguarding and trauma-informed practices.

This position will require an Enhanced DBS check and subscription to the update service, with reimbursement for this fee provided annually.
