About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team at Peabody. As a Youth Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16-17 years old in our new schemes in Lambeth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical and emotional support to young people, helping them to regain their independence and achieve their goals.
  • Work closely with external services to ensure the best possible outcomes for our residents.
  • Manage a group of young residents with complex needs, offering them the necessary support to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
  • Establish consistent, trusting relationships with young people, ensuring they feel secure and supported.
  • Recognise and respond to potential issues, using your empathy and excellent listening skills to navigate and defuse difficult situations.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with teenagers between the ages of 16-17 years old.
  • Experience of managing challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge or experience of safeguarding and trauma-informed principles.
