About the RoleThe Sales Director will be responsible for the overall success of all retail outlets within the business portfolio, meeting financial and service targets, and maintaining the highest level of service across all regions.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations, manage budgets, and set performance objectives across all regions.
- Work with the board and key stakeholders to ensure the continued growth of a multichannel retail business and associated functions/departments.
- Plan, evaluate, and optimise operations to be efficient and cost-effective.
- Prepare and present monthly analysis and reports of operations and sales initiatives.
- Devise sales targets and strategies to deliver the company growth plan.
- Play an active role in the creation of commercial and promotional activity within the marketing calendar to drive sales at a national, regional, cluster, or individual store level.
- Work with and support in the creation of robust processes to ensure store standards and cleanliness are impeccable at all times.
- Ensure adherence to company promotional and commercial guidelines.
- Liaise directly with the Finance Director on monthly P&L performance and drive efficiencies to deliver a profitable portfolio.
- Control cost of stationery/consumable items in store.
- Oversee the regional field team travel effectively and adherence to the company travel and expenses policy.
- Weekly reports on regional, cluster, and individual store and staff performance, changes to process, and operational highlights across the business.
- Ownership of the weekly retail store bulletin and relative store communications.
- Monthly sales review meetings with the Managing Directors.
- Recruitment, training, set action and targets, appraise, and manage performance, development, coaching, and general support of all team members to ensure targets are met.
- Identify key areas to drive sales performance, plan, and implement action to achieve sales growth.
The ideal candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills, experience managing projects that range from short to long term, and a strong understanding of commercial and retail operations.
