Co-funded by Cardiff & Vale University Health Board and Wales Cancer Research Centre
(WCRC), this Clinical Research Fellowship will be focussed on translational research in
developing novel therapeutic agents in haematological malignancies and providing clinical cover
of clinical trials research activities within Cardiff & Vale UHB Department of Haematology and
the Cardiff Cancer Research Hub (CCRH).
The post holder will be supported to undertake a higher research degree (MD) and the
fellowship provides opportunity for the trainee clinician to undertake a dedicated period of
research during their training, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and links to become a
future cancer research leader.

To participate in translational haematological cancer research, depending on the post holder’s areas of interest. Work with clinician researchers within Cardiff & Vale UHB, in collaboration with research scientists’ at Cardiff University (CU) Work within the research laboratories with the Division of Cancer and Genetics in CU and CU Medicines Discovery Institute (MDI). To generate and pursue independent and original ideas regarding cancer translational drug development in collaboration with clinician researchers within C&V UHB, CU Division of Cancer and Genetics and Medicines Discovery Institute and other research leaders within the
WCRC and CU. To disseminate research findings using appropriate and effective publications, research seminars, meetings, and conferences
