Position Overview
Velindre University NHS Trust - Clinical Trials Administrator - Fixed Term Contract
We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to become a part of our dedicated Research and Development team as a Clinical Trials Administrator. This role is designed to support the ongoing needs of our clinical research initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 in healthcare or relevant experience, along with a background in research, hospital settings, or the NHS. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success in this position.
In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the establishment of advanced therapy oncology research studies, as well as managing trial documentation and databases. A proven ability to collaborate within a team, effectively manage your workload, produce high-quality work, and adhere to deadlines is required.
Welsh language proficiency is preferred for this role; however, applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.
Main Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging effectively with ethics committees, research and development offices, investigators, and members of the multidisciplinary team, as well as pharmaceutical companies and research organizations.
- Handling inquiries from patients and caregivers with empathy and professionalism.
- Providing reassurance to patients and caregivers regarding arrangements made.
- Representing the Clinical Trials Unit Manager at relevant meetings and providing feedback to appropriate personnel.
- Serving as the primary contact for inquiries directed to the unit, ensuring prompt direction to the appropriate team lead or member.
- Coordinating communication and collaboration with other departments within the organization as necessary.
- Organizing monitoring visits for various teams and preparing the required documentation for each visit.
- Providing information and addressing queries related to the clinical trials portfolio managed by the Clinical Trials Administrator from multidisciplinary team members, departments within the organization, and external agencies.
- Representing the Clinical Trials Unit at divisional and national clinical trial meetings.
- Taking minutes during meetings as required.
