**Engagement Officer**
- We’re looking for an Engagement Officer to help achieve our vision of London alive with nature, where everyone can experience and enjoy wildlife. You’ll play an important role in the Learning & Engagement team, supporting with the smooth and effective delivery of our Outdoor Learning programme._

**Role & Responsibilities**

Reporting into the Head of Learning & Engagement, you’ll design and deliver the Outdoor Learning team’s programme of events on third-party sites across London. You’ll ensure the smooth and effective planning, delivery and evaluation of various pop-up events focussed on both outdoor family and community learning, and nature engagement activities.

Responsibilities in this role will include:

- Plan, coordinate and deliver pop-up community engagement activities and events linked with external partners, relating to the themes of wildlife, urban nature conservation, and climate change
- Organise staffing for events including management of sessionals and trainees
- Plan and coordinate resources for the off-site events programme, including keeping track of expenditure in line with allocated budgets for the overall engagement programme
- Regularly monitor, collate and evaluate feedback from participants and prepare monitoring and evaluation information to contribute to reports for funders and others
- Enter all required data into the LWT database in terms of H&S, volunteer registration and session delivery in a timely manner
- Work with the staff team at sites to manage shared resources including the use of Trust vehicles
- Work with, and follow the guidelines of, the marketing and communications team to ensure events are well promoted
- Work flexibly to ensure engagement event deliverables are met. To meet commitments that have been planned and organising new events as and when required after liaising with the learning team and external partners. **The postholder will work 3 days per week, with up to 4 weekend days per month**

**What’s in it for you?**

**Salary**: £27,865 annum (pro rata)

Tenure: Fixed-term contract ending 31st July 2024, working 3 days per week
Location: Based at Centre for Wildlife Gardening, though delivery of events will be across London

**Our ideal Engagement Officer**
- Full and clean UK driving licence (required for role)
- Experience of working with children and families in an outdoor setting
- Knowledge of UK wildlife and strong identification skills
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Proven ability to creatively design engaging activities for children and families
- Understanding of safeguarding children and young people and associated legislation
