Job Overview

This position is integral to a national team dedicated to executing the stakeholder engagement strategy of the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The role ensures a strategic and proactive approach to stakeholder interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the stakeholder engagement operations on both national and regional levels, fostering and sustaining relationships with key internal personnel.
  • Lead and participate in stakeholder engagement initiatives as necessary, which may involve internal and external project collaborations, professional discussions, information research, and the creation of presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Manage the Stakeholder Engagement communication channels, serving as the primary contact for inquiries directed to the stakeholder engagement team, responding to queries, and coordinating with the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager to plan, organize, and execute an annual calendar of team meetings and training sessions.
  • Coordinate national stakeholder engagement events, including drafting communications, handling logistical and administrative tasks, compiling information, and contributing to internal and external briefings.
  • Assist Regional Stakeholder Engagement Officers in executing effective community and stakeholder engagement activities aimed at enhancing public trust in the police complaints system.
  • Support Central Stakeholder Engagement Officers in developing and leading initiatives aligned with the stakeholder engagement business plan.
  • Oversee the Stakeholder Engagement SharePoint site, including the creation of new content, updating existing information, and resolving technical issues.
  • Coordinate the internal Stakeholder Insight Forum, managing all logistical arrangements and documentation.
  • Manage the stakeholder engagement components of IOPC publications, ensuring timely communication and awareness among stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the IOPC’s relationship management framework by gathering information to identify and prioritize key stakeholders.
  • Compile and draft reports and briefings for Senior Management and Regional Directors for external meetings.
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping for projects and key publications to support comprehensive engagement strategies.
  • Analyze data from various sources to identify relevant content for stakeholder engagement and share insights with the team.
  • Develop and maintain databases and tracking systems, along with their supporting documentation.

  • Demonstrated understanding of stakeholder engagement priorities.
  • Ability to assess the impact of decisions on the organization and its stakeholders.
  • Proficient in interacting with a diverse range of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work aspects.
  • Experience providing guidance to colleagues, including senior staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands effectively.
  • Flexible work approach, capable of meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other ICT tools.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Familiarity with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • Experience in SharePoint development and administration.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
