About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Officer to join our team at Islington Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our efforts to engage with the community and promote our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective external communications strategies to promote our services and engage with the community.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community groups and local organizations.
  • Collaborate with our Participation and Engagement Officer to promote our work at council events and engage with local people.
  • Design and implement creative internal communications to promote our team's work and the benefits of evidence-based decision-making.
  • Develop a process for gathering testimonials and communications case studies for internal and external use.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in delivering effective communications and a strong understanding of the challenges facing local authorities.
  • Ability to work in a political environment and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong data-driven approach to communications and a commitment to cultural competence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
