Income Management Officer

The Housing Options Service transferred back into the Council in October and has recently been through a service redesign. We are now on a transformation journey with the aim of being the 'best in class'. We are looking to recruit to some exciting roles in the Business Support and Commissioning Team, where you would be able to make a real difference to the success of the Housing Options service delivery.
The Income Management Officer roles are important to our successful management of emergency accommodation placements and as part of this role you will be able to positively contribute to the Income Management Team and be responsible for the delivery of a consistent income management service, maximising income by taking prompt and appropriate action. You will also look at, and apply, innovative ways of increasing collection to recover debts whilst ensuring a fair approach to customer care to households placed in emergency accommodation across Cornwall and outside the county.
The role will take you out of the office, visiting households in their emergency accommodation placements, as well as making contact by phone and letter. The role would suit a resilient individual who enjoys a challenge, is good at problem solving and building relationships - working as part of a team both internally and with external partner agencies.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
Whilst the location/work-base for this role may have been specified our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to also work remotely (e.g., from home/other locations). We will discuss this with you during the recruitment process.
