This position is a varied role which involves carrying out a wide range of tasks involved in the administration of a busy legal practice, including:
Closing and archiving of paper files. This involves physical filing and retrieval of files in and out of storage (N.B. This can involve some heavy lifting and use of a trolley)

Data entry to update the practice’s database by processing the movement of files, wills and deeds that are archived or coming in or out of storage.

Going to the bank to carry out the daily banking and perform any deliveries or collections including taking parcels to the post office.

Photocopying as requested to assist with bundles etc.

Taking payments from clients both in the office and over the telephone. Processing those payments on DPS into either the client or office account accordingly.

Providing daily lunchtime cover for the receptionist and at other times as required. Including answe3ring the telephone, greeting visitors to the office,

Opening the daily post and distributing it into the correct pigeon holes, and making enquiries about any unidentified post.

Monitoring the stationery stock levels and ensuring that orders are placed for stock when necessary, and keeping the stock room tidy on a daily basis.

Occasionally going shopping for supplies when necessary.

Helping other departments with filing and admin tasks when required to do so.
