We are seeking to appoint a Patient Pathway Administratorto join our Administrative Team at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre.
We are seeking to appoint a proactive, motivated individual who enjoys working in a busy environment within our friendly team in Oxford. The post holder will provide an efficient and effective clinical administration service to the Sarcoma department, consultants, nurses and wider clinical team.
The Patient Pathway Administrator will be responsible for providing and monitoring the administrative duties of the Sarcoma Service under the Assistant Service Manager for Sarcoma Service at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre. This includes providing the first point of contact for patients requiring cancer treatment on a 2WW Pathway. The post holder will be expected to prioritise conflicting work demands and effective working with the Sarcoma clinical teams, Outpatient Department, the multi-disciplinary team and other internal departments to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient care, ensuring patient pathway is following the national guidelines and clinical priorities.

- Action day-to-day issues, ensuring resolution and escalating serious issues to management as appropriate.
- To attend Radiology meetings and action any appointment outcomes.
- To assist and take minutes at the Sarcoma Clinical Governance meetings.
- To liaise with other departments to arrange transfer of care or biopsy appointments.
- Identify and suggest improvements that can be made within the service.
- To answer the telephone.
- To request images via the IEP system and ensure they are ready for the patients appointment.
- To ensure patients are seen within the Cancer target timeframes.
- The post holder has a general duty of care for their own health, safety and wellbeing and that of work colleagues, visitors and patients within the hospital, in the addition to the specific risk management of clinical governance accountabilities associated with the post.
- Observe the rules, policies, procedures, and standards of Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust together with all relevant statutory and professional obligations.
- Observe and maintain strict confidentiality of personal information relating to patients and staff
- Responsible, with management support, for their own personal development and to actively contribute to the development of colleagues
- Key relationships include Service Managers (Pre-assessment, Admissions, Theatres, Orthopaedics); Admission staff, Clinical staff: Consultants, Pre-assessment Nurses, Health Care Assistants.
