An exciting opportunity has arisen, as a 6 month secondment Matron for Acute Oncology Services, encompassing our Rapid Diagnosis and Triage teams joining a friendly, ambitious, and expanding department which provides a regional oncology service to the people of South West Wales. The catchment population is approximately 900,000. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to oversee the operational running, service development, and management of our Acute Oncology and Haematology Assessment Unit, AOS CNS and Rapid Diagnosis and Triage teams. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality care across our services, working closely with colleagues in cancer across the health board.

The post holder will work alongside the Deputy Head of Nursing for Cancer Services to provide exemplary nursing leadership, ensuring compassionate, high quality care is integral to the service, continually evaluating safety measures and outcomes to develop policies, guidelines and management of patients in line with national and best practice.

The South West Wales Cancer Centre is adjacent to Swansea University, and the College of Medicine. We have an active clinical trials unit, and an expanding portfolio of SACT and radiotherapy trials.

The South West Wales Cancer Centre is committed to developing services in collaboration with adjacent Health Boards and the Velindre Cancer Centre to ensure all patients in Wales have equitable access to haematology and oncology care.
