**Peer Mentor Coordinator Advert**

Phoenix Futures at RhEST (Regional Homeless Engagement Sustainment Team) have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain experience working in psychosocial treatment for substance use.

Previous experience is desirable, however not essential. A Peer Mentor Coordinator can come from many different backgrounds and experiences, and you may have the transferable skills required. We are seeking a dedicated individual, based on your values, willingness to learn new skills and the compassion to deliver the best service possible to the people that use our services.

**The Role**

As a Peer Mentor Coordinator, you will support people at RhEST to reach their goals and change their lives for the better. The Peer Mentor Lead is a new role, with the scope to shape our peer mentoring programme. You will lead on the implementation, recruitment, and supervision of the peer mentors as well as training development. The role is part time 22.5 hours per week. You will be part of a passionate and skilled team, who are warm and welcoming.

**About You**
To join us as a Peer Mentor Coordinator at RhEST, you will need:

- Relevant experience of working in health and social care, ideally within the field of problematic substance use, mental health, or another comparable field
- Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the peers and service.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- To be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word and be familiar with database management systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understand complex issues presented by people who are homeless with substance needs.
- Determined, with a drive to succeed and a willingness to learn.
- Passionate and enthusiastic about making a real difference to the lives of people we support.

Other organisations may call this role Peer Trainer Coordinator, Peer Mentor, Peer Support Practice Lead or Mentoring Coordinator.

**The Service**

The RhEST (Regional Homeless Engagement with Substance Treatment) is part of a commissioned Pan-London Substance Use Pathway for people who sleep rough. Our team will remove barriers to accessing treatment, helping our clients with complex needs to access and navigate substance use services from scripting to inpatient treatment. Our team provide case management support, ensuring that approaches and interventions are appropriate, innovative, and meet the needs of the people we work with, that engagement is time limited and focused, and that we are not duplicating the work of other agencies.

The service is pan-London, with your role involving a combination of working from home and meeting peer mentors and the team in the community.
