Position Overview

We are seeking compassionate individuals who have firsthand experience with mental health challenges and/or utilizing mental health services. As a Supportive Peer Mentor, you will be instrumental in offering assistance to those who require it. Your duties will encompass:

  • Conducting individualized sessions to aid individuals in recognizing their strengths and establishing objectives
  • Leading group peer support gatherings
  • Helping individuals connect with local resources and activities
  • Providing support to individuals as they transition from services
  • Offering emotional and practical assistance as necessary

Qualifications for the Role

  • Personal experience with mental health challenges or engagement with mental health services
  • Ability to convey personal experiences in a constructive manner
  • Dedication to empowering individuals facing mental health difficulties
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional listening and problem-solving capabilities
  • Comfort with maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and self-reflection
