Job Summary

Our client is looking for Peer Support Workers to join their service. Your main duties and responsibilities are to listen to people in an empathetic and non-judgmental way.

Hourly:
£13.15 per hour (on call at £58.80)

Hours:
Bank - zero hours

Shifts:
Monday - Friday: 6pm - midnight and Saturday - Sunday: 12pm noon to midnight


The ideal candidate will have lived experience and understand the importance of providing a safe space for someone who is going through a mental health crisis.

They also understand the peer support model and can work remotely.

Our client's organisation has a very strong team ethos and believes in their buddy system which you will be working with one other peer supporter during your shift.

This position is a zero hours role for an out of hours crisis line which operate from weekdays 6pm-12am and weekends 12pm-12am.

This role requires you to be on-call which means you are able to be ready when someone calls the crisis line and provide support.

Our client's peer supporters will have to attend a monthly clinical supervision, team meeting and 1-1. You will have to also complete training as and when required and complete e-learning courses at home.

Peer Support Workers support people in crisis through active listening and empathising around shared experiences.

The ideal person will have lived experience of using mental health services or caring for someone in an unpaid role.

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate people and help in any recovery processes. Having excellent communication skills is also essential.
