About the Role

We are seeking three highly motivated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Peer Support Specialists in our award-winning Trauma Service. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing lived experience support to patients accessing our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide welcome calls to new patients, offering a listening ear and support in their journey
  • Lead a drop-in peer support space, creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for patients to share their experiences
  • Offer one-to-one support around specific problem areas, drawing on your own experiences and expertise
  • Participate in and co-deliver psychoeducational groups, sharing your knowledge and insights with patients
  • Receive training and supervision from our clinical team, ensuring you have the skills and confidence to excel in your role
Requirements
  • Personal experience of mental health challenges, adverse experiences, and/or past trauma
  • Personal experience of accessing mental health services for therapeutic support
  • Willingness to share aspects of your recovery journey in a constructive way to support the development of others
  • Previous experience of supporting people in distress or with specific areas of significant difficulty (professional or personal)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of accessing trauma-specific services
  • Personal experience of receiving psychoanalytic informed therapy
  • Previous experience of Peer Support/Lived Experience work
  • Previous experience of involvement in research, audits, or service evaluation
  • Experience of facilitating supportive group work
