About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Peer Support Specialist to join our team at Together for Mental Wellbeing. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals experiencing mental distress in the Merton borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group peer support to individuals experiencing mental distress, using your lived experience to inform your practice.
  • Work collaboratively with individuals to develop holistic wellbeing plans, focusing on their strengths and skills.
  • Deliver peer support groups, workshops, and activities that promote a sense of solidarity and tackle isolation.
  • Support individuals in developing tools and strategies to self-manage their mental health.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and partner organizations to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Requirements
  • Experience of mental distress and a strong understanding of the mental health system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals and teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check required.
