Hestia Housing Support is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Young Adults Peer Support Worker to join our Mental Health Integrated Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) Team. As a valued member of our team, you will work closely with individuals and groups of young adults, drawing from your lived experience to inform, support, and collaborate with service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide formalized peer support to service users via one-to-one sessions and groups
  • Advocate the views and interests of service users, when requested, while accessing other local community and statutory services
  • Use lived experience in appropriate situations, including to build rapport with service users
  • Help individuals identify their own achievable and meaningful recovery goals and set recovery objectives, supporting with creating Dialog+ assessments
  • Facilitate access to community groups and networks that enable service users to participate in community activities

Requirements:

  • Lived experience of mental health problems and experience of using secondary care services
  • Experience of working autonomously, and in a team or a group environment
  • Knowledge of using a range of self-management or recovery tools and techniques
  • Understanding and practical knowledge of mental health recovery
