About the Role

The South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Perinatal Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a Community Perinatal Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, safe nursing care to pregnant service-users in the antenatal and post-natal period who present with complexity and significant levels of risk.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider systems, including Mother and Baby Units, Maternity Services, and joint Liaison with midwives and consultant obstetricians. You will also be responsible for working with patients who frequently present to crisis services and supporting them in their recovery. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed individual to make a real difference in the lives of our service-users.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Registered Adult Nurse and/or Registered Mental Health Nurse and/or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse with a mentorship qualification. The ideal candidate will have significant relevant clinical experience, evidence of continuing professional development, and experience as a preceptor/mentor. Knowledge of clinical governance and audit is also essential. Desirable qualifications include a Master's degree and experience of taking responsibility for a ward/clinical unit, engaging/supporting clinical research projects, supporting practice development in clinical areas, and teaching/lecturer practitioner/preceptorship.
