About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Kensington & Chelsea Mind. As a Peer Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in delivering our Peer Support Service, which provides formalized peer support for individuals living with common and complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver one-to-one peer support, peer support groups, social peer support, peer support training, and Living Well Workshops to individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with our clinical and wellbeing services to provide a comprehensive support package.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service users, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure a high-quality service.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our Peer Support Service, including training and capacity building.
  • Participate in regular supervision and team meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Personal lived experience of recovery and living well with a mental health condition.
  • Knowledge of recovery-focused approaches in mental health and trauma-informed practice.
  • Proven experience of delivering peer support in a mental health setting.
  • Knowledge and experience of common and complex mental health conditions, including complex emotional needs and personality disorder.
  • Experience of working with diverse communities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use your own lived experience to inspire hope and recovery in others.
  • Ability to manage self-care and prioritize your own well-being.
  • Ability to plan and organize your own time and work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
