Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. It also aims to disrupt the organised criminal groups that exploit the vulnerable for their personal gain.

**Job description**:

- Interventions Sanctions and Compliance (ISC) within Immigration Enforcement (IE) is responsible for implementing, overseeing, and operating some of the measures designed to restrict ineligible migrants from accessing benefits and services. Its aim is to encourage compliance with the immigration rules, a critical component of the overall enforcement effort to tackle illegal migration through a series of legislative and non-legislative measures, built on a framework of compliance, deterrence and data-sharing, underpinned by safeguards, which strengthen eligibility checks on migrant access to work, benefits and services to ensure:
- Those without eligibility are less likely to be able to live and work in the UK
- Public funds are protected

The Civil Penalty Compliance Team (CPCT) sits within ISC and issues civil penalties to employers found to be employing individuals without permission to work and landlords renting private sector accommodation to individuals without permission to rent in the UK. The team also has oversight of the subsequent debt recovery processes relating to unpaid civil penalties. The team is also responsible for issuing notices to enable landlords to terminate tenancy agreements with illegal migrants.

**Person specification**:
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Drafting, updating and reviewing written instructions and delivering practical workshops, both in person and virtually, on best practice in evidence gathering and the administration of the schemes operated by CPCT to colleagues in the unit, and to colleagues across IE and other areas of the Home Office
- Working closely with CPCT colleagues to identify learning gaps and opportunities and planning and implementing a regular programme of development in direct response to emerging trends
- Hosting and delivering awareness sessions on CPCT’s work as part of IE’s Job Shadowing Programme, and ISC’s and IE’s induction plans
- Overseeing the management of an inbox and responding to complex queries as appropriate
- Supporting the SEO with delivering the communication activities in the CPCT Communications Plan
- Line management for an Executive Officer
- Pro-actively supporting Continuous Improvement across the unit

**Essential Criteria**
- Experience of developing individuals and/or teams to get the best out of people
- Flexible, organised and able to deliver under pressure
- Able to quickly adapt to, and handle, unexpected changes to priorities and procedures
- Good IT skills (e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
