Jcrs and Student Communities Assistant
Lancaster University Students’ Union provides excellent services and opportunities to support and inspire our diverse population of over 15,000 students to make the most of their experiences at University. With students at the very heart of all we do, we are looking for a JCRs and Student Communities Assistant as part of a strong and supportive wider team.
The role is a two year fixed term opportunity for a recent Graduate.
The Students’ Union is responsible for the support and oversight of 8 JCRs (plus the PG committee), each of which engage with their students through a variety of activities (including high participation events such as elements of Welcome Week and Extravs).
The Students' Union has identified that the support and engagement of the JCRs should be increased and prioritised to enhance our support in the coming years.
This role, embedding into our Societies and Communities department and will provide a single point of contact and coordination for the JCR committees, ensuring an enhanced relationship is created at the beginning of this academic year, and developed through the course of this fixed term role.
We want to increase consistent, responsive communications and support will enable our JCRs to hold greater confidence in the students' union whilst enhancing our support to JCR activity.
In addition to the JCR focus, this role development is also responding to a wider reconsideration of Union engagement with Student Groups, and its existence will allow the students' union to focus staff resources at key times to all our wider communities.
