- **Overview of Pension Officer**
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Pension Officer to join an expanding team. The role of Pension Officer has a competitive pay rate of £16.86 per day PAYE. Other benefits include excellent training and support for career development and 21 days holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).
- **The Main Purpose of Pension Officer**:
" To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the School Teachers', Pay and Conditions Document and to take account of guidance issued by the National Employers Organisation.- " Perform the Pension Auto Enrolment (PAE) process for all Council staff and generate and distribute notification letters as required. Include the PAE task for the Councils external clients once their individual staging date is reached.
- " Ensure accurate guidance is provided to Head teachers, teachers, and governing bodies.- " Maintain up to date records to complete the Monthly Data Collection (MDC) in respect of teachers' salaries, service and pensions in an efficient and timely manner.
- " To produce the MDC reports and verify the data before submission to TP.
- " Ensure member records are maintained on the Enterprise Resource Planning System and Pensions Scheme portal.
- " Authorise and organise for additional pensions and faster accrual instructions from pension scheme.
- " To create, reconcile and submit the monthly data to enable the payment of the monthly contributions to Teachers' Pensions for schools, services, and academies.
- **About you, the successful will have**:
" Post qualification experience within a large organisation, delivering similar services.
- " Authoritative knowledge of relevant systems, policies, regulations, professional guidelines, legislation, and emerging developments within the specialist area such as the Teachers' Pension Scheme.
- " Knowledge and experience of contributing to the development of policies, procedures, and practices.
- " High level of technical expertise in processing service history correction in recalculation of pensionable pay.
- " Experience of processing pension scheme instruction.
- " Clear understanding of employee life cycle and all related payroll and pension requirements.
- " Demonstrable management skills, with experience and success in a similar managerial position including experience of managing budgets and resources.
