We have a fantastic opportunity for a Budgeting & Reporting Manager to join our team working flexibly with a requirement to work from our office in Canary Wharf preferably once a week. The role is a 12 month FTC with a salary on offer from £63,000- £67,000 with a bonus of up to 10%.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Senior Budgeting & Reporting Manager, the role specifically forms part of the team that provide financial planning and budgeting, reporting, control and general ledger oversight for NHS Property Services and leads the delivery of the budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes within NHS PS, helping to drive company visions and values and support the department "eco-system" and culture of pro-activeness, excellence and understanding.

**Key duties and responsibilities of the role**

We are looking for a responsible Budgeting and Reporting lead to take ownership of the NHS PS company annual budget, quarterly forecasting cycle, and the NHS PS company month end process. You will also review budget proposals and prepare financial documents and reports, provide insight and financial stewardship through the development of the Executive reporting review.
- Support delivery of end-to-end month end reporting, forecasting and annual corporate budget processes through standard framework and tools, ensuring key stakeholders are aware of key deadlines and understand key deliverables and expectations.
- Business partner with the rest of Finance to support delivery of financial targets for NHS PS (Operating costs, NRF RDEL and CDEL).
- Budget reports for ExCo / A&G committee / Board and production of annual Budget Book.
- System load of NHS PS Budget / forecasts to provide "one version of the truth" for all to use.
- Ensure month end reporting packs drive insight and understanding into key financial metrics including any risks and actions, helping NHS PS to make informed decisions about the business.
- Develop and continually enhance consolidated reporting processes.
- Help stakeholders identify potential adverse trends and implement actions to mitigate.
- The post holder will be an excellent communicator, communicating financial data to groups of senior managers and external stakeholders, advising on financial issues to non- financial managers. The post holder will be able to communicate this in such a way as it is understood clearly by all parties.
- Receiving the budget estimates from all the departments of the organisation and critically examines them for correctness, accuracy and completeness, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organisational objectives.
- Together with the rest of the senior management group across Finance, ensure that the financial control environment is robust, and risks mitigated and reported.
Essential specifications include:

- Recognised Finance professional qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a minimum of 3 years experience post qualification
- Very strong understanding of budgeting and planning methodologies
- Strong knowledge of strategic business models and strategy evaluation tools commonly used
- Strong knowledge of financial controls across all aspects of a commercial environment.
- Strong experience of month end reporting processes and best practice approach
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Previously managed budgeting, forecasting and planning cycles
- Comfortable with building and maintaining financial models
- Preparation of month end analysis and reporting
- Highly numerate
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey real issues at hand
- Plans ahead to ensure quality delivery
- Use of standard and consistent approach to budgeting / forecasting
- Strong Excel skills is essential
