- NWTT is a leading regional timber and construction supplier, employing approximately 90 and operating since 1990.
- There are 7 retail depots in the group, covering an array of manufacturing capabilities in timber treatment, sawmilling, fence panel production and joinery.
About the position
Our Finance & Sales Ledger Assistant will be based at our offices in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan. Remote or hybrid working is not available.
We are keen to talk to people who have worked within a finance function.
We are looking for a Finance & Sales Ledger Assistant to cover all aspects of sales ledger and to assist as necessary within the finance department. There are many other tasks connected with assisting in the development and running of North West Timber Treatments.
The work is varied but requires hard work and attention to detail. Aspects that you may get involved, quality standards, and bank reconciliations.
What you will be doing
- Maintain and support development of internal IT systems
- Assist with the preparation of information for finance manager
- Categorisation of delivery notes from all depots
- Posting delivery notes onto accounting system and generating sales invoices
- Uploading specific customer invoices via EDI portals
- Invoice queries and gathering information
- Allocating customer payments
- Posting petty cash vouchers for all depots
- Filing and archiving of paperwork
- Dealing with customer and branch queries
- Answering telephone as required
- Any other tasks within the department as required
Advantageous experience & skills
- Confidence with accounting systems - ERP
- Experience within an accounting office
