- Immigration Enforcement is responsible for enforcing the government’s immigration laws, tackling illegal migration, removing foreign national offenders and immigration offenders from the UK. This role sits within the Operational Projects and Delivery Team in Strategic Services and Transformation. The team works closely with colleagues across Immigration Enforcement (IE) to deliver projects of strategic and operational importance. Recent projects include the Long Service and Good Conduct Medals, the Controlling Migration Fund and the UK’s Community Engagement Pilots.

The team works with the operational business to deliver change and provide assurance to the IE Board and other stakeholders on recruitment, onboarding and retention, with the aim of improving and standardising governance, processes and policies to increase the recruitment and retention of staff in IE. The immediate tactical priority of the team is to support the operationalisation of the 10 point plan to tackle illegal migration and increasing recruitment into IE, as well as three ongoing strategic priorities focused on recruitment, retention and onboarding.

The post-holder will operate at a strategic and operational level, working across IE and with enablers, including Home Office Resourcing Centre (HORC) and HR to articulate business needs, scoping gaps and identifying issues in respect of recruitment, retention, onboarding and training, and then developing and delivering innovative solutions to address those within challenging deadlines.

You will be a key player in the Recruitment and Resourcing Working Group, regularly providing updates and agenda items to ensure colleagues are informed on your activity.

You will lead on Outreach activity, developing mechanisms to centrally collate the external engagement and outreach events taking place that promote IE’s roles externally to ensure data is captured to support performance reporting, as well as to be utilised in developing communications internally and externally to maximise opportunities and increase interest in IE’s vacancies. You will work closely with colleagues across the Home Office to develop best practice and consistency in approach.

You will create and oversee the development of a clear communications and engagement plan relevant to your projects, making best use of all available communications channels to ensure colleagues and teams are engaged and informed.

**Person specification**:
We are looking for someone who:

- Can lead on, or assist in, projects by working with colleagues across IE to deliver strategies, frameworks or processes that aim to improve business performance in a collaborative and supportive way.
- Has strategic thinking, problem solving, organisational and both written and oral communication skills.
- Is able to consolidate information from across the department to identify evidence gaps, and explore new and innovative approaches to inform future direction.
- Support the team’s planning function by leading on commissions relating to fiscal and strategic workforce planning, reporting on Ten Point Plan recruitment activity and working closely with Migration & Borders, finance and HR colleagues.
- Is comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced and changeable environment.
- Has good judgement to decide when to escalate issues, knowing what information to share with whom, and ensuring that the important does not get lost in the rush to attend to the very urgent.
- Is resilient under pressure, capable and versatile in responding to changing circumstances and tight timetables.
