**Job summary**:
The People Group provides the full range of human resources to Ofsted. The Group comprises six teams: HR Business Partnering; HR Services; HR Strategy; Health, Safety and Well-being; Organisational Development; and Talent and Resourcing. HR Services provides advice and payroll services for all employees and managers. The team consists of HR Operations; Pay and Pensions; Casework and Advice and is the first point of contact for HR queries.

The post holder will supervise and line manage one of the two following teams and will be expected to work across the two work areas if required, at any given time

**Payroll and Pensions**
- Managing the full range of payroll and pension functions included but not limited to the input of data relating to a range of variable pay elements, the checking of salary payments to starters, leavers, temporary promotions, staff on maternity or paternity leave and the checking of all sickness absence payments. Liaising with MyCSP and processing all pension and exit transactions, including voluntary exit and redundancy packages.

**Administration**
- Managing the full range of administrative functions for the employee life cycle after on boarding to exit, including, but not limited to: input and updating of employee data to the HR system; DBS checks including the rolling programme of these, annual leave and long term absence, note taking for HR Casework meetings, leavers administration including retirement; maintenance of personal files, assisting the monthly payroll, analysing reports and answering queries across four HR shared mailboxes.

- Experience of managing a team in a high volume administrative environment whilst achieving operational targets and objectives within well-defined policies and frameworks. (Desirable)
