This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Aylsham Medical Day Unit team to help administer and support delivery of care to patients at the NNUH.
Who we’re looking for?
We are looking for a full time Waiting List Co-Ordinator to become a member of a truly collaborative and hardworking team who provide administrative support to the Aylsham Medical Day Unit. This will include scheduling patients for various procedures on AMDU, utilising the treatment areas and nursing resources efficiently. The post holder will work as part of a team providing waiting list management for the Medical Directorate. This role relies on close working relationships between Consultants, Secretaries, Ward Staff and patients.

- To work closely with, and communicate efficiently and effectively with Consultants, Secretaries, Ward Clerks, Nurse Practitioners and all internal and external staff to ensure the smooth running of waiting lists and admission processes.
- Ensure the smooth admission of patients to hospital by liaising with the coordinator and by control of the Bed Booking system.
- To be proficient in the use of PAS, recording activity in real time as per Trust Data Quality Policy. This includes waiting lists, TCIs and ward attenders.
- Add patients to PAS waiting lists and schedule TCI appointments for all procedures on AMDU. Print patient labels and wristbands in preparation for patient admissions.
- Record Ward Attenders and Outcomes on PAS as per Trust Data Quality Policy.
- Deal with telephone queries relating to admissions and waiting lists. Communicate effectively and appropriately with all patients who may be anxious, upset, or aggressive. This may be both face to face or by telephone.
- During periods of sickness or annual leave, provide cover for waiting list co-ordinator / ward reception colleagues to the best of your ability.
- Investigate patients who do not attend to establish if they still require the procedure and then take appropriate action in line with Trust Policy.
- Ensure correct pre admission and admission information is recorded onto the Patient Administration System as per hospital policy.
