Customer Service Consultant

You will work in partnership with our field sales team to provide the highest quality customer service and drive sales through professional interactions with existing customers and prospective clients.
Your continuous interactions with established, new and potential customers will play an integral part in establishing and maintaining professional long-lasting relationships and promoting brand loyalty.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for first-line support and solutions to enquiries, preparing quotations and undertaking accurate order-taking and processing in line with agreed service levels.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assist customers with enquiries, concerns and issues in a professional and timely manner
- Effectively and promptly follow up on customer projects, activities, and opportunities, successfully converting these to sales
- Actively generate new business using own initiative in line with company guidelines and parameters
- Effectively communicate active promotions, promotional material and new products available
- Proactively identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within customer portfolio
- Process orders, quotes, invoices and other requests using dedicated software (Sage 200 and Sage CRM)
- Accurately update information relating to customers and prospects on company systems
- Work as a team and in partnership with other sales colleagues and other internal departments (both locally and internationally) to meet the needs of the customer
**Required Experience / Competencies**
- Previous experience in a customer service role
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well as part of a team environment
- Technical aptitude beneficial
- Good numeracy skills for calculating discounts etc.
- Microsoft Office (required), CRM Software (desirable), Sage200 Sales Order Processing or equivalent (desirable).
