**HR and Payroll Assistant-Fixed Term (12 Months-Maternity Cover)**

**Full-Time 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday**

**Salary up to £28,000 per annum, depending on experience**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR and Payroll Assistant to join the Human Resources team at The Oxford Collection. In a supportive and collaborative role, you will be working alongside the HR and Recruitment Coordinator, and all operational departmental managers under the strategic guidance of our Head of Human Resources.

You will be responsible for the efficient coordination and administration of 4-weekly Company payroll, and will assist the HR team with all aspects of day-to-day HR administration.

The Oxford Collection is comprised of independently owned hotels and restaurants all located within Oxford city centre. These include the Old Bank Hotel, Old Parsonage Hotel, Quod Restaurant & Bar, Parsonage Grill, andGees Restaurant & Bar.

As HR Assistant, you will report directly to the Head of HR supporting around 250 employees.

**The Role**:

- This varied role includes supporting all aspects of day-to-day HR administration
- You will work closely with the HR and Recruitment Coordinator and Head of HR to support and positively influence the smooth running of the HR Department
- Efficient coordination and administration of the Company’s 4-weekly payroll (via Access Payroll), including pension reports
- Assisting with all administration relating to the HR People Access system and employee life cycle and onboarding I.e. processing new starters, leavers, promotions, transfers, salary changes etc.
- Supporting recruitment initiatives and administration when required
- Providing support to our managers and employees with all general HR and payroll queries
- To assist with any HR projects and/or tasks as and when required

**Key Responsibilities (but not limited to) include**:

- Act as a brand ambassador and guardian of standards for the Human Resources department and all identities belonging to The Oxford Collection
- Being a role model for The Oxford Collection, and upholding our culture
- Work closely with the Human Resources and Recruitment Coordinator and Head of Human Resources to drive and execute all aspects of our strategy
- Build and maintain relationships with our managers and their teams, providing legally sound guidance relating to all aspects of HR, payroll and recruitment, ensuring that company policies and procedures are adhered to, whilst remaining legally compliant
- This role would be best suited to an established HR Assistant who has experience within the hospitality sector
- Proven experience with HR systems such as (or similar to) Access People, Access Payroll and online learning platforms such as CPL Learning would be beneficial
- Experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and digital onboarding would be an advantage
- Experience in administering payroll, preferably for hourly paid employees, weekly/4-weekly, across multiple departments and sites
- It would be highly beneficial to have completed (or be undergoing) the level three CIPD HR qualification, an HR and / or hospitality degree, although full training will be given
- You will naturally enjoy building and maintaining relationships with our managers and their teams, provide legally sound employee relations guidance and ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to
- HR or Hospitality related degree or equivalent would be beneficial
- Qualified (or working towards) CIPD Level 3 or 5
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar position
- Experience in coordinating and administering payroll preferably within a multi-property organisation in hospitality, leisure, or luxury retail
- Experience working with third-party agencies - External recruitment agencies, local job boards and job fairs, universities and colleges, payroll providers and a Troncmaster
- To possess and maintain an interest and up-to-date knowledge of trends, best practice and news in the hospitality and HR industry
- Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail
- Possess a warm, gracious, friendly, and professional demeanour
- Motivated self-starter with ability to work under own initiative
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Access People, Access Payroll, CPL Learning
- Good knowledge of the principles of GDPR, Data Protection Act and associated data security
- Be organised, have excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Fluent in written and spoken English with a high level of written and verbal communication skills
- Be eligible to live and work in the UK
