The Role
The project will be supervised by Dr Adam Ingram at Newcastle University. The wider Newcastle group has expertise in cosmology, compact objects and magneto-hydrodynamics.
The position is fixed term for 6 months, with full time hours (37 per week) and an estimated start date of early-October 2023.
The salary depending on experience and qualification will be in the range of the Grade F salary range (£33,966 - £36,024) with generous funds for travel and training.
Start dates and flexible working are negotiable.

The role is at the Research Associate/Assistant level, based within the School of Mathematics, Statistics & Physics
The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience with time series analysis of data from active galactic nuclei.
- Experience with the X-ray spectral fitting software XSPEC.
- Expertise in machine learning techniques.

**Qualifications**:
- PhD in Astrophysics
