Finance Assistant

We are advertising on behalf of our client who is seeking an experienced, part-time Finance Assistant to join their talented team. This is a newly created position which has arisen due to business growth.
Our SME client operating in the tech industry, is located in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen. Our client is made up of a team of talented strategists, software developers, learning consultants and business analysts, and they provide a highly informed customer experience for clients to help them run their businesses more effectively. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the effective management and timely processing of all financial administration for the business. They will work with the support of the external company accountant.
Reporting to the CEO, your main responsibilities will involve the following:
- Preparing invoices
- Compiling and submitting VAT returns
- Managing the processing of personal expense claims for employees.
- Handling company expenses and related tasks
- Preparing Payroll
- Assistance with preparation of monthly and annual management accounts
- Cash flow management
- Liaising with team members as required to ensure all questions and queries are resolved promptly.
**Requirements**:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role is essential
- Experience working with Xero
- Experience working in a standalone role is desirable
- A minimum of Maths and English at National 5 level - Grade B or above
- Confident in dealing with client/ supplier/ staff queries

- Strong organisational, timekeeping and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Accuracy with record keeping and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain a positive mindset, show respectful and collaborative behaviours.

This is a part-time position working 15-18 hours per week - ideally across Monday-Friday. Our client is open to discussing alternative flexible working arrangements.
