Happy Days Nurseries are looking for a Human Resources Officer to join our professional and friendly HR team, based in Bristol.

We have ambitious growth plans and we know that our success is dependent on our dedicated workforce who work closely to provide the very best experience for our children and their families.

Reporting to the Head of HR, you will advise and support the nurseries within our East region (covering Exeter, Weston-Super-Mare, Bristol, Bath, Swindon and Poole) on all elements of the employment lifecycle. To work closely with line managers and colleagues within the region in resolving people queries in the most effective way possible. Support the HR Manager with the delivery of the people strategy.

This role may require occasional travel should you be required to represent the HR department at employee related meetings or training sessions.
You are required to possess a CIPD Level 5 qualification, with at least 2 years’ experience working within an HR department. You will be a strong communicator, be self-motivated, have excellent attention to detail and require the need for discretion when handling confidential information. You will be the point of contact for the region relating to all HR matters, such as employee relations, investigations, monthly MI reporting as well as sickness and absence reporting.

Our HR office is located within the Almondsbury Business Park, within the North of Bradley Stoke and it has excellent transportation links

**Roles & Responsibilities**
- To advise Managers and colleagues within their region confidently on company HR policy, procedure and employment law
- Build relationships with the line managers, provide guidance and coaching on colleague issues as and when they arise
- Support the implementation of HR policies in line with Company goals
- Ensure compliance at all times with legal requirements and best practice
- Prepare monthly HR & Payroll reports
- Supporting the offer and on boarding process in line with Safer Recruitment, including preparing offer paperwork, carrying out pre-employment checks, ensuring all necessary paperwork is scanned and filed electronically, working in collaboration with the Line Managers and the Recruitment Manager.
- Guide Managers during the investigation process, supporting them in writing report and acting as a note-taker when necessary.
- Advise and support Managers through the Disciplinary process, preparing invites to hearings and participating in hearings in an HR advisory and note-taking capacity.
- To assist the HR Manager in complex Employment Relations cases.
- Support Managers when dealing with colleagues with sickness and absence and be involved in any absence review meetings.
- Ensure the efficient and accurate administration of HR stats from nurseries to provide any changes to payroll on a monthly basis.
- To create and maintain Manager and Support Centre Colleague records.
- To arrange and source training for relevant colleagues in conjunction with the training budget.
- To support the administration and day to day queries of new apprentices through the levy.
- To ensure staff details are correct on Connect.
- To provide cover for the HR Officer in Cornwall, when required. E.g. holidays.
