**Job Title: Data assistant**

**Salary: £22,000 (gross per annum)**

**Hours: 37.5hrs per week - Monday to Friday**

**Location: Head office, The Core, Newcastle upon Tyn**

**Job summary and purpose**
- This role requires someone with an aptitude for handling large volumes of data in an accurate and efficient way
- Preparing large database files ready for survey fieldwork including deduplication processes
- Exporting survey data and preparing raw data, excel dashboards and data tables for clients
- Ongoing preparation and validation of PowerBi dashboards
- Providing a professional data analysis function to project managers across the business within project timeframes
- Multi-tasking and prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment is a must for this role

**Key responsibilities**

**Data handling and analysis**
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the software and research techniques used in quantitative research projects
- Promote best practice in the quality control of all data and ensure all ISO quality and GDPR procedures are adhered to across the business
- Become competent in Askia our survey system where we script surveys, import survey data, conduct fieldwork and analyse responses
- Prepare survey data using tools such as Excel and Loadit to feed Askia SQL tables, identifying means of streamlining existing processes where possible and ensuring accuracy at all times
- Use Askia, SNAP and Excel to prepare data tables and raw data reports for use by others in the business
- Managing Power Bi dashboards and other visualisation tools
- Working with colleagues
- Work with project managers to deliver data requirements for quantitative projects across the business, planning and prioritising the requirements of all internal clients
- Create and maintain good working relationships with all colleagues
- Ensure clear communication with colleagues and clients
- Work in a flexible manner, adapting to changing demands of the client, fluctuations in workload and to support the wider team

**Essential**

- Proven IT and maths skills.
- High standard of literacy and written communication skills.
- Confident, flexible and helpful personality with ability to gain colleagues’ trust and build relationships as an active member of a team.
- Ability to work individually managing own time and prioritising.
- Problem solving of day-to-day issues as they arise with the initiative to find solutions where necessary and to recognise when problems and queries should be directed to a colleague.
- Excellent verbal face to face and telephone communication skills. Ability to liaise with all types of people at varying levels of responsibility and to communicate technical information to non technical people.
