The Senior Data Governance Analyst/Manager plays a crucial role in the management and protection of the organisation’s data assets. This position is responsible for developing and implementing data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, availability, and privacy of data across the enterprise.


The role will work closely with IT, legal, compliance, and business units to facilitate data governance initiatives and promote data quality and data management best practices.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Data Governance Framework Development: Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive data governance framework globally, including data policies, standards, and procedures.


  • Data Quality Management: Monitor data quality, identify data quality issues, and work with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective measures.


  • Data Privacy and Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR). Assist in the development of policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.


  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between IT, business units, and external stakeholders to promote data governance principles and practices.


  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training materials and communications to raise awareness and adherence to data governance policies and standards.


  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation related to data governance policies, procedures, and metrics.


  • Data Inventory and Classification: Conduct data inventory and classification projects to identify critical data elements and ensure they are adequately managed and protected.


  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving data governance practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


Required Experience:

  • Previous experience producing data governance framework globally.
  • Understanding of data governance principles, data quality standards, and data management practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Talend).
  • Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, CIPM).
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., finance, healthcare).
