We have an exciting opportunity for a Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant to join our supportive and friendly team at The Laurels in Lincoln. We provide accommodation for 12 residents and there is a garden, which residents are able to help to maintain and a training kitchen to support rehabilitation.

The interdisciplinary team consists of a Rehabilitation Consultant, Neuropsychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy. Support is also provided by experienced rehabilitation and therapy assistants. The team at The Laurels work together to develop person-centred, evidence based rehabilitation care plans that aim to maximise the individual’s independence and recovery.

**What you'll be working**:
This role is full time - 37.5 per week - Monday to Friday

**What you'll be doing**:

- Undertake assessments and treatments for residents who have been screened by a therapist and deemed appropriate for Technician intervention
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams with the aim of supporting timely discharge when relevant
- deliver safe, efficient and effective resident-focussed care in line with local and national standards
- Use initiative in the management of residents ensuring the registered therapist is kept informed
- Make appropriate risk assessment of residents’ capabilities and their environment prior to any intervention
- Evaluate resident progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes/goals as required within your scope of practice
- Teach residents and families the correct and safe use of equipment, seeking guidance from a qualified therapist where necessary
- Advise, support and empower residents and their families in self-management and to make informed decisions about their care

**What you'll have**:

- Full Clean Driving Licence
- Must be able to show empathy and understanding
- Medication Management Training
- Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of neurological rehabilitation
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to motivate and engage the residents
