**Job summary**:
**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
To schedule patients into clinics and for surgical dates using the criteria set out by the Trust and the clinical speciality, identifying capacity shortfalls
- Ensure patients are added to the waiting list via OPTIMS
- Ensuring accurate maintenance of waiting lists on Oceano and other systems in line with 18wk RTT
- Booking of theatre lists in liaison with consultant and theatres, ensuring necessary kit, grafts and documentation are organised
- Processing patient appointment and admission attendance using a variety of hospital information systems
- Booking of beds through the Bed Booker and through liaison with the wards
- Ensure timely processing of appointment and admission offer letters to patients
- Chase up operation notes and discharge summaries from other hospitals post-surgery
- Undertake work that has been prioritised by the Supervisor / Line Manager
- Book and monitor room bookings
- Identify shortfalls in staffing and request bank staff
- Arrange Porters / Patient Transport, sample collection / delivery as requested
- Support discharge planning as appropriate
- Arrange meetings and case conferences as and when required
- Manage at short notice cancellations and re bookings of patients as necessary onto appropriate lists

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
- Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environment

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
- Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Experience of using IT systems
- Knowledge and experience of 18wk RTT pathway

**Desirable**:

- Experience of working in a busy environment
- Experience of working in Healthcare
- Experience of managing surgical waiting lists
