You’ll be working on collecting payments from resident communities within the BTR portfolios on behalf of the Landlord. You’ll be communicating and engaging with a mixture of high-end professionals from across the world who expect a high standard of service. It’s safe to say that this isn’t your ordinary Collections role.

This role requires someone who exudes professionalism and can communicate with site management teams at the properties, internal billing and customer support teams and individual and groups of residents directly. Whilst your primary role is to collect existing debt and arrange payment plans as appropriate you will also be an advocate on site to explain the benefits of regular payment plans and budgeting for utilities. You’ll need to understand utilities to be able to explain sometimes complex billing situations and be comfortable and articulate in challenge.

You will work closely with the Payments team as a point of escalation. You will hold regular meetings with the site teams to discuss and plan debt reduction and prevention initiatives. You will support tariff changes by working with the Site Mobilisation and Engagement team to host on site resident engagement meetings to communicate the changes.

As someone target-driven you’ll be competitively incentivised to ensure that the debt profile of the buildings you look after is as low as possible.

This role will cover the areas of Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Glasgow. This would be a great opportunity for someone who enjoys to travel and would appreciate the flexibility of being able to manage their own diary

**What will you be doing?**:

- Reviewing customer consumption vs payments on a regular basis and making recommendations for required changes
- Liaising with site teams to agree strategies, communication and next steps to enhance the likelihood of collecting billed debt.
- Attending site to discuss outstanding amounts directly with residents.
- Supporting in the planning and administration of communications to customers and clients
- Managing payment exceptions and failures and dealing with related customer queries
- Reporting on payment performance
- Supporting site teams in management of final debt at point of homemove
- Supporting Head of Billing and Debt in management of data passed to Debt Collection Agencies (DCA)
- Work compliantly, adhering to guidelines set by or relating to GDPR, OFGEM, OFWAT &OFCOM

**What does good look like?**:

- Experience in a Collections function in utility sector - cross utility advantageous
- Familiarity with Ability to Pay regulations and debt support resources
- Confident to set achievable and timely payment plans where appropriate
- Experience of IVAs
- Familiarity with Stripe/Direct Debit and BACS payment methods
- Strong resilience and negotiation skills
- Experience of interfacing with Debt Collection Agencies
- Confident and friendly; motivated to help customers fix problems
- Goal orientated
