University of Warwick, United Kingdom University of Warwick Full time

Permanent position, 36.5 hours per week (1.0 FTE).

The University of Warwick has set out a clear vision in its Widening Participation Strategy that: by 2030, Warwick will be regarded as one of the UK universities with the greatest impact on social mobility, through its ability to recognise, inspire, and enrich talented students from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We wish to be regarded as a beacon of excellence for our approach to social mobility and WP evidence-based research and practice nationally and internationally.

The Widening Participation (WP) team at Warwick is growing and under our new Divisional structure has been split into five core areas, focused on the delivery of key strategic priorities. The areas of the team include: Evidence and Evaluation; Academic Engagement and Internal Community; Educational Partnerships, Sustained Engagement and Access and Student Success.

We are looking to recruit a second Widening Participation Evaluation and Evidence Officer to design and implement evaluation plans and to generate evidence which looks at the impacts and effectiveness of Widening Participation and Social Mobility interventions. This role will be central for enhancing our evidence-based approach, and for understanding the factors that impact on students’ outcomes across the stages of the student lifecycle.

Working in collaboration with academic and professional services departments across the University, the post-holder will champion best practice, driving sector leading evaluation and using evidence to inform the targeting of our Widening Participation and Social Mobility interventions. Your work will also support the wider team in implementing the University’s Widening Participation strategic objectives. You will need to have a strong collegiate approach and be an effective team player.

Warwick operates hybrid working, with office days being led by operational need.
