University of Warwick, United Kingdom University of Warwick Full time

23 hours per week, fixed term contract until 31 January 2024 (Maternity leave cover).

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Modern Records Centre and Library at the University of Warwick and to contribute to the development of its audience engagement and the delivery of key, high profile projects and services.

In October 2023 the Modern Records Centre (MRC) will celebrate its 50th birthday - this post will lead on the planning and delivery of events and exhibitions to mark the occasion, including a one-day symposium on the theme of Labour History. The aim of the programme is to celebrate the rich collections of the MRC and its donors and researchers. This project will also raise the profile of the MRC and create a legacy of material to support outreach and marketing activity in the months and years to come.

The successful applicant will also lead on delivering embedded study skills training to University students and researchers to build confidence and competency in finding and using archival materials to support their work. Working in partnership with module leaders and academic departments, you will develop engaging and relevant teaching sessions to inspire and inform students needing to work with archives.

The University and the Library are currently refreshing and updating strategies - a key element of which will be to build upon the impressive work undertaken over the last few years in support of widening participation and outreach work to promote the archive collections held at the Modern Records Centre. This post will take a lead on further developing and delivering on these strategic aims.

We are looking for a talented person, educated to degree level or equivalent and with relevant experience in an academic or specialist information service setting, working with staff and students. You will have a track record of successful project management and delivery, a good understanding of modern teaching and learning, and of widening participation issues in Higher Education. You will also be an excellent team-worker, with the ability to take an innovative and creative approach to service development.

Possession of an appropriate qualification in educational studies or archive work/librarianship/ information management is desirable. More information is available in the job details.

The working pattern would normally fall within office hours but flexibility would be required as some activities may fall outside core hours (of Monday - Friday, 09.00 - 17.30). Advanced warning would be given if this were the case. This will be covered in the interview.

**This role will require an enhanced DBS check with children’s barred list.**
