**Description of opportunity**:
Disability Advice Service (East Suffolk) is a friendly local charity based in Martlesham Heath. For nearly 40yrs it has been providing impartial, free advice and support to people with disabilities, their families and carers - and changing the lives for the better of disabled people in crisis across East Suffolk.
The charity is entirely dependent financially on securing grants and donations from many organisations. We are looking for an individual with suitable and relevant experience to join our dedicated team and continue our successful fundraising track record.
**The role**:
The job is for 15 hours/week (2 full days equivalent, could be four half days).
Home working in full or in part will be considered once required performance has been demonstrated.
The pay is £11,310 per year (equivalent full-time salary - £28,275).
**Job Type**: Part-time, permanent
**Specific duties include**:
- Deal with all communications concerning grant administration, in particular end of or mid-term grant reports in accordance with funders' terms and conditions.
- Organise events or other activities that aim to generate donations or more generally increase awareness.
Qualities and skills required to carry out the role:
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to thrive at building relationships.
- Passion for and a commitment to the disabled cause; lived experience will be a plus.
- Confidence, enthusiasm, determination and resilience.
- Organisational skills and ability to work largely unsupervised after induction training.
- IT literacy (including MS Office (mainly basic Word and Excel) and 365.
- Numeracy - ability to interpret operational data and translate it into information of interest to funders.
- Working knowledge of the DAS operations (training will be provided).
**Experience requirements**:
Experience in a related volunteering role or having a sales or marketing background may be relevant, as is demonstrating customer service and negotiations skills. Advertising, public relations, events management and finance are other potential areas.
